Sixth grade is a transitional year when students make the leap from elementary school into middle school. The sixth grade classroom is an active learning environment. Students are held accountable for nine key character traits that facilitate student success in a productive, respectful, and meaningful classroom environment.
In English Language Arts, students ignite their interest in reading and writing through hands-on, interactive projects and activities. They explore ways to become better readers and produce and publish writing in a variety of ways including blogs, movies, letter writing and/or book making!
Sixth graders will grow as critical thinkers and problem solvers throughout the Saxon Math Course I program as well as develop a fundamental understanding of biology in the Science classroom and explore the world’s cultures in Social Studies.
